About Me

Hola!  My name is Señora Tracy Bunn, and I teach "la Clase de Español" at Zebulon Gifted & Talented Magnet Elementary School to all ZES students .  I have attended many universities, including Appalachian State University, Meredith College, Barton College, and North Carolina State University (I love learning!).  I am certified to teach both Spanish (K-12) and English as a Second Language (K-12), and I have taught Spanish on both the high school and the elementary levels (I love both levels, but I especially love teaching elementary students because they have such an excitement for learning).  While a sophomore at Appalachian State University, I lived in Spain, with a Spanish family in the heart of Madrid, and I attended the University of Madrid Complütense where all of my classes were taught in Spanish!  When I was 12 and 13 years old, my family and I lived in Okinawa, Japan, and I was fortunate enough to travel to the Philippines to participate in the annual reenactment of the Bataan Death March) and mainland Japan where my dad and I climbed Mount Fuji. During my stay in Madrid, I traveled throughout Spain, Europe, and I even went to Morocco, Africa!  Just last summer my family and I traveled to Cancun, Mexico and Chichen Itza, Mexico, and we are going to Roatan Island in Honduras, Central America, Belize, Central America, and back to Cozumel, Mexico and Tulum, Mexico this summer--I cannot wait! My passions in life include traveling, learning about other cultures and languages, teaching Spanish, and spending time with my family (husband, Henry, daughter, Taylor, and my two cats, Lucy & Luís)!  While it takes a great deal of time and discipline to learn a second language, I am thrilled to be able to teach your child Spanish at the beginning of his/her journey to become fluent in the Spanish language and culture
